This is said to be a former glacier. The formation occurred during the last ice age and has been dated to be as old as 350 million years. The formation covers 15 acres and is said to have a stream that still runs beneath the field. At night the rocks really did have a blue glow to them.

Something caught fire in our neighborhood. A fire truck tried to get to it from the direction of that little cabin but couldn't. They went out to the main road and managed to get to it on that side to put out the fire.

This little finch flew into our guest room window and ended up on our porch with a bloody beak. I brought him (her?) in and offered a capful of water to drink and to cleanse his beak.

I put the little bird back on the porch, but he couldn't fly yet, so he got this little hospital room. I covered the entire box with a lingerie netting bag. After about an hour, he climbed on the bag, so I tried the porch again. He's back with his buddies now.

A group of us from our church went to Boone, NC to help with Operation Christmas Child. Our jobs were to go through the shoe boxes and make certain the gifts were appropriate. It was a very rewarding experience. The shoe boxes go to needy children all around the world.
