We went to Norfolk and the new owners of our house walked out the door as we walked by. They invited us in. They've done very little inside except paint--and they love the house which makes us feel good. They have relandscaped, though; had it done professionally. I'm anxious to see what it looks like against the house when it grows a bit. It seems a bit bare now.

GB Jones gave me a puppy harness and since Little Bear is so laid back I practiced on her. Mary Dillingham says she looks like a patchwork quilt!

Mary Dillingham gave me a harness for Blackie. It took forever to figure out how to get it on him. I was working on "gee," "haw" and "whoa" but I've stopped.

This little girl is named Oreo. Her Mommy has sore front feet so she walks on her front knees. But now she's getting better, thanks to antibiotics. There is another little girl with 3 colors that looks like a calico cat, so we call her Calico.

Big Girl is aptly named. She probably weighs about a 100 pounds, but she's very sweet. She belongs to Bonnie, who lives next to Josh and Sandra.

A group of us from our church went to Rocky Mount Historic Site in Piney Flats. Besides being fun, we learned a lot.

Circa 1770, the territorial capitol under Governor William Blount from 1790 to 1792, is restored to the original simplicity with much 18th-century furniture; log kitchen, slave cabin, barn, blacksmith shop, smokehouse. They also had goats in the pasture.

This calf is about two weeks old, I think, maybe younger. There are several youngsters and they have fun running and playing together. I've never before taken the time to watch them play, and didn't think calves could be so much fun. And cute!
